The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Theresa Valerio can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

The lighting of a Memorial Candle not only provides a gesture of sympathy and support to the immediate family during their time of need but also provides the gift of extending the Book of Memories for future generations.

Our mother, Theresa Velerio, a lady who did it her way.

Our mother was a lady before her time. She was a liberated girl and woman. She did it her way, and each of us 9 lived by example. She was generous, taking care of other kids, opened our home to everyone. She taught us to be giving. She was fierce in her opinions. She made many tough decisions, yet always did what she thought was right. Yes, she was loud, could swear with the best of anyone. Yet, she listened well, and knew when not to say anything. She gave great advice. Everyone who knew her felt loved and knew they were dealing with an honest woman. She did not hold back. Our mom wanted us to be nice. She wanted us to get along, no matter what. Our mother was a good lady. How many women can keep a home together with nine kids and not give up. She never, ever complained about anything. I know she has a big smile in her heart and she continues to watch the show down here.
