Jean  Zanatta (Barberie)
Jean Zanatta, 93, of Surrey Downs, Freehold passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Jean was a life long resident of Brooklyn until moving to Surrey Downs in 1996. She was a cafeteria worker for New York City Public Schools, Brooklyn until her retirement. Jean was an avid bingo player, who enjoyed playing every Wednesday.

She was predeceased by her husband, Warren R. Zanatta in 1994; her son, Warren M. Zanatta in 1989; three brothers, Patrick Barberie, Walter Barberie and Arthur Barberie; and two sisters, Rose Fitzgerald and Florence Simonelli. Jean is survived by her daughter, Geraldine “Jay” Pientak and her husband, Larry of Colonia; three grandchildren, Christopher Pientak of Colonia, Jessica Gambino and her husband, Joseph of Copiague, NY and Damion Zanatta and his wife, Rita of Lindenhurst, NY; four great grandchildren, Nicholas, Tyla and Olivia Gambino, and Miranda Zanatta; and a brother, Harold Barberie of Franklin Square, NY.

Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524) Freehold Township on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends may gather at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at 8:00 AM for her rite of committal, followed by her 9:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Chapel, North Main Street, Farmingdale.
