Obituary for Margaret Bottega (Maccaron)

Margaret Bottega (Maccaron)
Margaret Bottega, 85, of Old Bridge passed away suddenly on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge. Born to Silvio and Palma Maccaron in 1931, she was born, raised and had lived in Brooklyn before settling in Old Bridge in 1993. Prior to retiring in 1995, Margaret worked for LTIC on Park Avenue in Manhattan as a legal secretary. She was a fastidious neatnik who passed her knack for cleaning on to her boys. Margaret had a penchant for cooking, and her meatballs were the best. She was an incredible artist, had been a hand model at one point and loved to dance. Nothing in this world could compare to the love and adoration Margaret had for her family.
She was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Debra Bottega in 2016. Margaret is survived by her husband of 62 years, John Bottega of Old Bridge; sons, John Bottega, Jr. and his wife, Valerie of South Brunswick; Philip Bottega of Old Bridge; six grandchildren, Cristen Pennello and her husband, Anthony, Christopher Bottega, Justin Bottega, Greg Bottega, Caroline Bottega and Michael Bottega; two great grandchildren, Sofia and Anthony; and her sister, Beatrice Giglio of Staten Island.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524). Freehold Township on Saturday, July 15th and Sunday, July 16th, 2017 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home at 8:45 AM on Monday, July 17, 2017 for the procession to her 10:15 AM Funeral Mass at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 333 Route 18, Old Bridge. For those who desire, contributions in Margaret’s memory may be made to American Cancer Society, 2310 Route 34, Suite 1D, Manasquan, NJ 08736.
