Bernice Mascio, 84, of Jackson passed away on Friday, March 3, 2017 at The Orchards at Bartley. She was born and raised in Fords, and had lived in Edison and Farmingdale before settling in Jackson. For over thirty years, Bernice, along with her husband, owned and operated Helen’s Confectionary, Fords. She enjoyed crafting, knitting and crocheting, and doing word puzzles.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Pasquale “Pat” Mascio; a brother, Fred Ciktor; and sister, Elizabeth Berezosky. Bernice is survived by her daughters, Gina Wickberg and her husband, Richard of Farmingdale, and Lisa Ludwig and her husband, Al of Freehold; four grandchildren, Karlie Wickberg, Richard Wickberg and his wife, Marisa, Nicole Higley and her husband, Jarrett, and Jaclyn Ludwig; and three great grandchildren. Marielle, Jarrett and Carter.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, March 5, 2017 from 12:00 to 3:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 11:00 AM funeral service on Monday, March 6, 2017 at the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Woodbridge Memorial Gardens, Woodbridge.
