Catherine Lewis, 65, of Howell passed away at home with her family by her side Saturday, February 11, 2017. She was born and raised in Brooklyn, then moved to Manalapan in 1968 before settling to Howell in 1972. Catherine graduated from Marlboro High School in 1969, retired from Guardian Answering Service in 2002, and was a proud parishioner to St. Veronica Church. In her spare time she took great pleasure in researching family history, reading historical romances, and telling stories to her family and friends.
Catherine was predeceased by her parents, Martin and Ann McNamara. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, James W. Lewis of Howell; two daughters, Janice Coyne and her husband, Jon of Jamesburg, Katie Lewis, of Howell, and her boyfriend, Charles Borowinski of Sayreville; three grandchildren, Liam Coyne, Caleigh Coyne, and Grace Lewis; a sister, Eileen D’Andera and her husband, Dennis of Brick; a brother, James McNamara and his wife, Karen of Stanhope; a stepson, Joey Modico of Howell; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524) Freehold Township on Friday, February 17, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Her funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 10:00 AM. Interment will be at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, 299 Freehold-Englishtown Road, Freehold, NJ 07728. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 400 Morris Ave. Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834.
