Obituary for John J. "Jack" Conway Sr.

John J. “Jack” Conway, Sr., 92, of Freehold Township passed away at home on Friday, January 20, 2017. He was born in Jersey City, and had lived in Toms River for 20 years, then in The Villages, Freehold for 10 years before moving to Monmouth Crossing 2 years ago. John was a line inspector for the American Can Company until his retirement in 1978. Later, he worked as a processor at the Secaucus Postal Processing Center, retiring in 1986. John served his country proudly as a Sea Bee in the United States Navy during World War II.
John is survived by his wife of 68 years, Marie Conway of Freehold Township; two sons, John Conway, Jr of Freehold Township and Thomas Conway of Howell; a daughter, Carol Finn of Upper Saddle River; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township, on Sunday, January 22, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 & 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Monday, January 23, 2017 at 9:00 AM for the procession to his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township.
