Obituary for Robert F. Nagy

Robert F.  Nagy
Robert F. Nagy, 67, of Howell passed away on Monday, January 2, 2017 at The Manor, Freehold Township. He was born in Neptune, raised in Freehold and had moved to Howell in 1972. Robert was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served his country proudly during the Vietnam War as a helicopter gunner, 348th Infantry, First Brigade. He was a manufacturer for the Nestle Company for 40 years until his retirement in 2013. Robert was the head shop steward at Nestle and used his position to fight for his coworkers. He was the former Chief of the Adelphia Fire Company and had a small lawn service on the side known to all as “The Big Friendly”. Robert loved cheering for his favorite teams, the New York Giants and Mets, fishing, watching Fox News (he was a big Trump supporter) and spending time with his loving family. His favorite saying was “…never in doubt”. He will be remembered for his large and caring heart. He touched the lives of all who knew him.
Robert is survived by his wife of 44 years, Barbara Nagy of Howell; his children, Lori Alexander and her husband, James of Howell, Robert Nagy and his wife, Dawn of Howell, Sam Nagy and his wife, Tracy of Freehold, and Joe Nagy and his wife, Marissa of Howell; fourteen grandchildren, Marina, Tyler, Micaela, Paige, Katelyn, Meah, Cooper, Madyson, Haley, Kiefer, Molly, Samantha, Katrina and Dane; a brother, Michael Nagy of FL; several nieces and nephews; numerous family and friends; and his faithful King Charles Cavalier, Maggie.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, January 5, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Friday, January 6, 2017 at 8:45 AM for the procession to his 9:45 AM Funeral Mass at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 31 Asbury Road, Farmingdale. Interment will follow in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery, Freehold. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Robert’s name may be made to the Adelphia Fire Company, PO Box 125, Adelphia, NJ 07710.
