Louis G.  Talarico
Dr. Louis G. Talarico, 65, of Freehold Township passed away at Meridian at Shrewsbury on Thursday, December 8, 2016. Louis, who was born in Hackensack and raised in Lyndhurst, settled here in the late 1990s. He was the Superintendent of Schools for the Florence Township School District until his retirement in 2011. Prior to that he was the Deputy Superintendent for Freehold Regional School District and an economics teacher / director of curriculum in the Lyndhurst School System. A sax player who enjoyed jazz music, Louis was considered a real renaissance man. He loved traveling to Aruba and Florida, and playing roulette in Atlantic City. Louis’ other interests included acrylic painting and character drawings. He was a member of the Unico Italian American Club in Lyndhurst and the School Superintendents Association. Louis also coached basketball and baseball in Lyndhurst.
He was preceded in death by his father, Minnati Talarico. Louis is survived by his wife of thirty-eight years, Lynda Talarico; two daughters, Lauren Talarico and Kristen Talarico, both of Freehold Township; mother, Lina Talarico of Lyndhurst; brother, John Talarico and his wife, Carmen of Red Bank; his nephew, Kaleb and his niece, Ambra.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, December 12, 2016 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM with his funeral service to follow at 11:00AM. Entombment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. For those who desire, donations in memory of Louis may be made to Lewy Body Dementia Association, 912 Killian Hill Road, Lilburn, GA 30047.
