Obituary for Jack D. Tortorello

Jack D. Tortorello, 78, of Barnegat passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2016. Born and raised in Newark, he lived in Union before moving to Barnegat 20 years ago. He worked for the City of Newark as a driver and heavy equipment operator for 45 years until his retirement in 2005. Jack loved the beach and spent many hours fishing, crabbing and watching the storms roll in with his children. When he was not at the horse races, he enjoyed playing cards with his many friends and family. Jack cherished the time he spent with his beloved grandchildren.

Jack is survived by his wife of 51 years, Frances Tortorello of Barnegat; three children, Dominic Tortorello of Clearwater Beach, FL, Nicole Randazzo and her husband, Thomas of Manalapan, and Anthony Tortorello and his wife, JoAnna of Aberdeen; and four grandchildren, Cooper, Thomas, Samantha and Colton.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, December 5, 2016 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at 9:00AM for the procession to his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township.
