Patricia Ann "Patty"  Saporita (Cozzo)
Patricia Ann Saporita, 70, of Jackson went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, November 12, 2016. Born Patricia Ann Cozzo on September 28, 1946 on Staten Island, and raised in the Meiers Corners section, she later lived in Westerleigh and Castleton Corners. She lived in Jackson for sixteen years.
Patricia attended McKee High School and received a certificate in hairdressing and cosmetology from the former Marinello School of Beauty in Manhattan. She worked as a hairdresser at the former Frank’s Barber and Beauty Shop in Meiers Corners, which was owned by her family. She later worked at Vincent’s Beauty Salon, Sunnyside.
When she was in her thirties, she attended the College of Staten Island and received an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse at Staten Island University Hospital and the former Doctor’s Hospital. She was also a licensed Emergency Medical Technician and an instructor in the EMT training program on Staten Island.
Patricia was a devout Christian who loved Jesus and loved reading, sharing and living the Word of God. She was a loving daughter who spent several years caring for her mother when she was ill.
She was a devoted wife and mother who was deeply loved by her husband, son, brothers, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her two Maltese dogs, Teddy and Timmy. Patricia enjoyed watching classic films, and was an exceptional Scrabble player. An excellent cook, Italian dishes were her specialty.
Surviving are her husband of 19 years, Paul; her son, Kenneth Holtermann; and her brothers, Philip and Salvatore Cozzo.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.
