Obituary for Annette Guber (Zangara)

Annette  Guber (Zangara)
Annette Guber, 71, of Jackson Township passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. She was born, raised and had lived in Brooklyn before moving to the Prince’s Bay Section of Staten Island where she raised her family for 25 years. Annette moved to Jackson in 2015. Once her children were grown, she went back to school, earned her Master’s Degree and became an educator, teaching 5th grade at St. Joseph Hill Academy, Staten Island for 15 years until her retirement in 2009. She was a parishioner and eucheristic minister at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, Staten Island and a member of the Jewish Community Center, Staten Island. Annette enjoyed playing cards, Mahjong, swimming but most of all, she loved spending time her family. She traveled throughout the United States including Alaska and Canada. She will be best remembered as having a caring heart. Annette was a beloved wife, loving mother, adoring Grandma and GiGi, and devoted sister and aunt.
Annette is survived by her husband of 54 years, Milton Guber of Jackson Township; four daughters, Cheryl Arata and her husband, Neil of Millstone, Karen Brasco and her wife, Stephanie Goldberg of Virginia Beach, Stephanie Donlon and her husband, Richard of Freehold Township, and Danielle Catarino and her husband, Nelson of Clark; eight grandchildren, Nicholas Arata, Jake Arata, Robert Brasco and his wife, Mar-rizza, Kristen Brasco, Samantha Donlon, Matthew Donlon, Olivia Catarino and Christopher Catarino; three great-grandchildren, Jayden, Dominic and Gianna; a sister, Marianne Zangara and her partner, Rita of West Windsor; a brother, John Zangara and his wife, Debbie of Lakehurst; two nephews; and two nieces.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524) Freehold Township on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 8:15 AM for procession to her 9:30 AM Funeral Mass at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 935 Bennetts Mills Road, Jackson Township. Interment will follow in Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls. For those who desire, memorial contributions in Annette’s name may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
