Elaine M. Forsyth, 79, of Freehold Township, passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at CentraState Medical Center. Born in Jersey City, Elaine was raised in Weehawken and had lived in Belmar from 1969 until settling to Freehold Township in 2006. She was a former parishioner of St. Rose Catholic Church, Belmar and currently a parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, Freehold, where she was also a member of the Rosary Society. Prior to her customer service career, working as a supervisor at Cablevision for over twenty years, Elaine was a homemaker, who enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting and caring for her family.
She was predeceased by her husband, John Forsyth, Jr.; her parents, Charles C. and Rose M. Bradley; and her two sisters, Maureen Bradley and Charlotte J. Iversen. Elaine is survived by her children, Susan Barrett and her husband, Brian, Nancy Forsyth and her fiancé, David Henriques, John C. Forsyth and his wife, Jennifer, and Diane Verderese and her husband, Nick; ten adored grandchildren, Amanda Finn and her husband, Brendan, Diana Morrow, Jessica Ruiz, Brianne Barrett and her fiancé, Michael Price, Emily Munn, Elizabeth Forsyth, Harrison Forsyth and his girlfriend, Jenn Golding, Jackson Forsyth, Jade Forsyth, and Nicole Verderese; four great-grandchildren, Savannah, Brendan, Jr., Leo and Emma; a son-in-law, Pedro J. Ruiz; two brothers, Charles E. Bradley and Brian Bradley and his wife, Sheila; a brother-in-law, Alan Iversen; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road, (Route 524) Freehold Township on Sunday, June 12, 2016 from 5:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Monday, June 13, 2016 at 9:00 AM for procession to her 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Elaine’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
