Edward  Tikkanen Sr.
Edward Tikkanen, Sr., 86, of Howell, passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He lived in Brooklyn for 38 years before moving to Howell in 1968. A former Merchant Marine, Edward was a First Mate for Turecamo & Moran Tugboats in New York Harbor for over 30 years. He was a member of the Manasquan Elks Club and was an artist with a creative imagination.
Edward was predeceased by his daughter Deborah in 2010. He is survived by his wife, Nora Tikkanen; a son, Edward Tikkanen, Jr. of Edgewater; a daughter, Kathy Duchnowski of Brick; and two granddaughters, Kelly and Sara.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524) Freehold Township on Friday, February 26, 2016 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:00 AM funeral service on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the funeral home.
