Obituary for Carol J. Fisette (DuPont)

Carol J. Fisette (DuPont)
Carol J. Fisette, 68, of Clarksburg passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. She was born in Berlin, NH to Harvey and Mildred DuPont. She was raised in Gorham, NH, and had lived in Queens, Boston, Connecticut and Freehold Township before settling in Clarksburg in 1988.
Prior to her retirement in 2001, Carol worked as a teacher’s assistant for special needs children in Connecticut and Massachusetts, and then for the Freehold Township Board of Education. A devout catholic, she was a parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, and lived her life representing the true meaning of the expression “its better to give than to receive”. She enjoyed traveling the world, water color painting and photography, as well as spending time on the lake in Dingman’s Ferry, PA. As an animal lover, she volunteered at The Manor and CentraState Medical Center in Freehold Township for 15 years, most recently with therapy dogs, as well as donating time and effort to Meals on Wheels. Carol lived every day on the go, and was our personal Hallmark, thanking the thank you. Her kindness, compassion and giving nature will be missed. The world was a better place with her in it.
Carol was predeceased by her parents; her son, Craig Fisette; her sister, Nancy DuPont; her brother-in-law, Raymond Lessard; her nephew, Kevin Lessard; and her nieces, Kathy DuPont and Diana DuPont. She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Richard R. Fisette of Clarksburg; a daughter, Stephenie Fisette-Cotter and her husband, Tommy Cotter of Bayonne; grandchildren, Thomas and Morgan; siblings, Joann Lessard of Lehigh Acres, FL, Richard DuPont and his wife, Jean of Lehigh Acres, FL, and Marilyn Finnegan and her husband, Reynold, of Fort Meyers Beach, FL; three nephews, Jimmy DuPont, Reynold Finnegan, and Matthew Fisette; four nieces, Christine Tessier, Donna Thorp, Vicki Roy and Valerie Twiss; brothers- in-law, Michael Fisette and his wife, Elaine Fisette of Beverly Hills, FL, and Peter Fisette and his wife, Sue of Moneta, VA; numerous grandnieces and grandnephews; her faithful feline companion, Bailey; and her four month old puppy, Lily.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, February 22, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at 9:00 AM on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 for the procession to her 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township. Interment will follow in Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent. For those who desire, contributions in Carol’s name may be made to the Popcorn Park Zoo, One Humane Way, Forked River, NJ 08731.
