Richard Paul Kent, 60, of Farmingdale passed away suddenly at home on Wednesday, February 3, 2016. Richard was born and raised in Avenel. He had lived Metuchen and New York City before moving to Asbury Park. He had met his partner Victor and spent time Woodbridge before settling in Farmingdale this past November. Richard retired as a Disaster Recovery Specialist for Jefferies in New York City. Prior to that, he worked for Bank of America, Citi Group, and as a retail associate for Macy’s. Richard had a special place in his heart for Connie Francis and I Love Lucy. He could be found watching old black and white movies or reading a good book. Richard was a world traveler, mainly to broaden his knowledge of history but also just to cruise the Caribbean or Alaska. Yet, his true passion was for collecting original art work and his love for his partner, Victor.
Richard was predeceased by his father, Francis Kencitski. He is survived by his partner, Victor Jordan of Farmingdale; his mother, Irene Kencitski of Avenel; two brothers, Frank Kencitski and his wife, Janet of Virginia and Robert Kencitski of Old Bridge; four nephews; and two nieces.
A memorial gathering will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, February 8, 2016 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM with his memorial service to follow at 11:00 AM.
