Obituary for John J. Kozo Jr.

John J.  Kozo Jr.
John J. Kozo, Jr., 71, of Freehold Township, passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was born in Woodbridge in 1944, and settled in Freehold in 1972. John worked as a deli manager and butcher at the Pathmark in Freehold, providing 40 years of dedicated service before retiring in 2012. He was a devoted husband and father whose positivity, cheerfulness, and the smile on his face will be missed tremendously.
John was predeceased by his father, John Kozo in 1967, and mother, Irene Kozo in 1998. He is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Carol Kozo of Freehold Township; four children, John Kozo III and his wife Carrie, of Montgomery Village, MD, Luisa Kozo of Homestead, FL, Howard Shapiro of Freehold and Meredith Shapiro of Fort Lauderdale, FL; four grandchildren, Ashleigh and Corbin Kozo of Montgomery Village, MD, and Madison and Tyler Shapiro of Midland, MI; one sister, Barbara Dilkes, of Beach Haven and one aunt, Anne Mahoney, of Woodbridge.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, December 4, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 7:00 PM. Inurnment will be private.
