Carmen R.  Ferraro
Carmen R. Ferraro, 87, of Jackson, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Monday, September 14, 2015. Sonny was born, raised, and had lived in Inwood, NY. He lived in Oceanside, NY and Albuquerque, NM before moving to Jackson in 2005. Sonny was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a self-employed landscaper in Inwood. Sonny was a former member of V.F.W., Post 1582, Inwood. He was a disciplined craps player and fan and handicapper of professional football. Along with his wife, Sonny loved to travel. He was a loving husband, devoted father, and adoring grandpa.
Sonny was predeceased by his sister, Mary Chimato. He is survived by his wife, Nancy E. Ferraro of Jackson; his children, Stephen Ferraro and his wife, Megan of Howell, Grace Evans and her husband, Ron of Point of Rocks, MD, Caroline Zimmerman and her husband, Brad of Jefferson, MD, Marjorie Littlefield of Seal Beach, CA, and Joseph Ferraro and his wife, Samantha of Seal Beach, CA; four grandchildren, Luke, Abbie, Hailey, and Elizabeth.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township, on Thursday, September 17, 2015 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM with his funeral service to follow at 5:00 PM. Interment will be private. For those who desire, memorial contributions in Sonny’s name may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO BOX 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
