Louis James "Buddy"  Kummer
Louis James “Buddy” Kummer, 86, of Colts Neck passed away at home on Sunday, May 3, 2015. Buddy was born in Newark and lived in Toms River before moving in with his daughter in 2011. Louis was a U.S. Army veteran having served in the Korean War. He was a self-employed trainer and driver of standard bred horses. Buddy was a true family man who loved to watch the Yankees and to golf.
He was predeceased by his wife, Caroline Kummer in 2000; a son, Wiliam Kummer in 2009; a grandson, Jacob; and two brothers, William Kummer and Jackie Kummer. Buddy is survived by seven children, Louis “Buddy” Kummer and his wife, Lynn of Fredericksburg, MD, Kathleen Branning and her husband, Paul of Colts Neck, Tim Kummer and his wife, Mitzy of Coral Springs, FL, Anna Gaffney and her husband, Rich of Forked River, Michael Kummer and his wife, Mary of Glen Burnie, MD, John Kummer of Whiting and Patrick Kummer and his wife, Tammy of Fayetteville, NC; nineteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, May 8, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 11:00 AM funeral service at the funeral home on Saturday, May 9, 2015. Inurnment will be at the convenience of the family.
