Obituary for Robert J. Nash

Robert J.  Nash
Robert James “Bob” Nash, 76, of Freehold passed away on Friday, May 9, 2014 at The Manor, Freehold Township. Bob was born in Harrow, England and had lived in Canada before moving to New Jersey. He served in the United States Army, 82nd Airborne Division from 1958 to 1962. Bob was a member of the 1st Battle Group, 34 Infantry Division Leclerc Squad representing the United States Army in the NATO Prix Leclerc small arms competition. He was a life member of the Central Jersey 82nd Airborne Division Association and the Disabled American Veterans, Central Jersey Chapter, Lakewood. Bob was a co-owner of Lexington Labels in Ewing and after retiring, he was a delivery driver for Freehold Toyota.
He was predeceased by parents, Basil and Edith Nash; and two nephews, Eric Monenschein and William VanDerveer. Bob is survived by his wife of 53 years, Elaine Nash; two sons, Ronald Nash and his wife, Lise Ann and Kenneth Nash both of Sayreville; two sisters, Shirley Rieck of Cary, NC and Sandra Hardin and her husband, Dennis of Chiefland, FL; a brother-in-law, Allen Giordano and his wife, Ellen of Barnegat; two nieces, Cynthia Williams of Monroe, GA and Linda VanDerveer of South Brunswick; two nephews, Michael and David Giordano; and a grand nephew, William VanDerveer.
A receiving of friends will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM with his memorial service at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Hugh Mackenzie officiating. Inurnment will follow in Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle NJ Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown.
