William N. "Bill"  O'Leary
William N. O’Leary, 88, of Freehold Township passed away at CentraState Medical Center on Monday, May 5, 2014. Bill was born, raised, and had lived in Brooklyn, NY before moving to Silvermead, Freehold Township in 1992. During World War II, he was a PFC in the U.S. Army in the European Theatre. Bill was a firefighter for the FDNY, Engine Company #321, Gerritson Ave, Brooklyn for 27 years, until his retirement in 1982. He was a family man and a devoted parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church.
Bill was predeceased by his wife, Grace, a grandson, Kenneth Michael O’Leary, Jr., and three sisters, Marie, Alice, and Arlene. He is survived by five sons, William F. O’Leary, Jr. of Freehold, Kevin O’Leary of Brooklyn, Kenneth O’Leary and his wife, Melissa of Delran, John O’Leary of Freehold, and Brian O’Leary of Freehold; a daughter, Mary Ellen Kennedy and her husband, Matthew of Freehold; twelve grandchildren, William, Ryan, Kaitlyn, Kellyanne and her husband, Michael Gomez, Jacqueline, Daniel, Kristina, Kevin, Brandon, Christian, Matthew, and Arlene; and a great granddaughter, Giovanna.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, May 8, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Friday, May 9, 2014 at 10:00 AM for the procession to St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township for his 11:00 AM Funeral Mass. Interment to follow in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle New Jersey Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
