Daniel Edward Somers, Sr. 82, of Clarksburg, passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at The Manor in Freehold. He was born in Syracuse, NY, raised in Monroe and resided in Clarksburg for 51 years before moving to The Manor in Freehold in 2014. Daniel was the founder of Daniel Somers Trucking & Rigging and was the proud owner of numerous race horses. He was a former member of the Millstone Elks and enjoyed traveling.
Daniel is survived by three children, Daniel Somers, Jr. of Reading, PA, Gwendolyn Somers of Jackson, NJ, and Tamela Blancato and her husband, Tony of Newtown, PA; five loving grandchildren Fawn, Kandace, Kayla and her husband, Daniel, Luc and TJ; and five great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, August 17, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 PM. Interment will be private.
