Adele Eckert, 76, of Freehold Township passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born and raised in Westfield, she lived in Rahway before settling here in 1996. Adele was an active member of the St. Mary’s School PTA and a Girl Scout Troop leader in Rahway. In her spare time, she enjoyed golfing and coaching her children’s sports teams. Adele had also worked as a hair dresser, but her true passion was being a grandmother.
Adele was predeceased by her husband, Mike Eckert in 2000. She is survived by her children, Michael Eckert and his wife, Lori of Howell, and MaryAnn Eckert of Howell; grandchildren, Katelyn Eckert, Paige Eckert, Nicole Eckert, Austin Marques and Ryan Marques; brother, Donald Fusco and his wife, Millie of Bayville; sister, MaryAnn Galati of Mays Landing; and nephews, Donald Fusco of CA and Jimmy Fusco of Cranford.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township from 9:00 to 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 29, 2017 with her 11:00 AM funeral service to follow at the funeral home. Entombment will take place in Fair View Cemetery and Mausoleum, Red Bank.
