Lillian Tesalona, 93, of Jackson passed away at home on Wednesday, July 19, 2017. Lillian was born in Costa Rica to Gabriel and Florinda Fonseca. She was raised in Port Limon, Costa Rica and settled in the United States in 1940. Lillian was a Nurse’s Aide at Clove Lake Nursing Home in Staten Island until her retirement in 1969. A compassionate and giving woman, she was blessed with a beautiful disposition. Her door was always open, and she would be waiting with a smile to welcome you into her home.
Lillian was predeceased by her husband, Maximo Tesalona in 1984; daughter, Joyce Tesalona in 1939 and Maximo Tesalona, Jr. in 2000. Lillian is survived by her children, Linda Rogriguez Benge of Riverdale, GA, Florinda Canale and her husband, Vincent of Jackson, Mariano Tesalona and his wife, Nancy of Manalapan, Franklin Tesalona and his wife, Sonia of San Antonio, TX, and Buddy Lang of CA; twenty grandchildren; twenty two great grandchildren; and seven great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, July 20, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 8:30 PM with her funeral service to follow at 8:30 PM. Relatives and friends may gather at the funeral home on Friday, July 21, 2017 at 8:30 AM for the procession to Moravian Cemetery, 2205 Richmond Road, Staten Island, NY 10306 for interment.
