Salvatore A. "Sal"  Profaci
Salvatore A. Profaci, 86, of Freehold Township passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 7, 2017. Sal was born in Villa Bate, Sicily and immigrated to the United States at the age of 15 when he settled in Dyker Heights. He loved this country and proudly served in the Army during the Korean War. With a playful and flirtatious personality, Sal enjoyed singing. He made a delicious pizza and loved cannolis. Sal was a dedicated family man who loved his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Frances Profaci of Freehold Township; children, Francine Profaci Balzofiore and her husband, Carl of Staten Island; Anne Profaci Petrillo and her husband, Philip of Leonardo, Andrew Profaci of Asbury Park, Rosanna Profaci of Manalapan, Joan Profaci Sierp and her husband, Matthew of Marlboro; and nine grandchildren, Salvatore, Andrew Ryan, Frankie, Daniel, Joseph, Olivia, Gabriella, Natalie and Noelle.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at the funeral home for the procession to his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township. Interment will follow in Brigadier General Wm. C. Doyle NJ Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Salvatore’s name may be made to the Lupus Foundation of America, Inc., 2121 K Street NW, Suite 200, Washington, DC 20037.
