Vincent Placanica
Vincent “Vinny” Placanica, 58, of Howell passed away with his loving family by his side on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Vinny was born and raised in Brooklyn, and moved to Howell twenty years ago. He belonged to bowling leagues in Brooklyn, and enjoyed golfing at the county courses in Jersey. Vinny enjoyed camping and vacationing, especially in the Outer Banks. A happy and positive man, he was a fighter till the end. Vinny possessed a wonderful sense of humor, and loved his family and his dog more than anything.
Vinny is survived by his wife of 33 years, Paulette Placanica of Howell; daughters, Jennifer Placanica, and twins, Samantha Placanica and Danielle Placanica, all of Howell; and his furry son, Gino; three sisters, Joanne Cilento and her husband, Ralph of Staten Island, Theresa Sorezza of Brooklyn, and Marie Lande and her husband, Joseph of Brooklyn; and nieces and nephews, Ralphie, Karen, Maria and Vinny.
Visitation will be held at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, May 11, 2017 from 5:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 8:30 AM Funeral Mass on Friday, May 12, 2017 at the Church of St. Veronica, 4251 Route 9 North, Howell. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Brielle. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Vinny’s name may be made to American Brain Tumor Association 8550 W.
