Obituary for Walt Lukasik Jr.

Walt Lukasik, Jr., 61, of Howell passed away at home on Friday, May 5, 2017. Born in Newark, he was raised in Succasunna and had lived in Mount Olive before settling in Howell with his family in 1999. Walt was a dedicated Mets fan and a nerd, fascinated with space and the universe. He immersed himself in the outdoors, fishing and hiking in state and national parks and forests. To him, it was important to remind everyone to recycle. Walt will be remembered as a loving father and devoted caregiver to his beloved wife.
He was predeceased by his father, Walter Lukasik, Sr. in 1996 and brother, Joseph Lukasik in 2013. Walt is survived by his wife of 36 years, Roseann of Howell; daughters, Elisa Randisi and her husband, Mike of Howell, and Jennifer Lukasik and her husband, Dimitrios Penoglou of Jackson; his mother, Marie Lukasik of Montague; sister, Diann Vivar and her husband, Alfonso of Dover; brothers, Michael Lukasik and his wife, Patricia of Montague, and Steve Lukasik and his wife, Theresa of VA; many nieces and nephews; and his furry four-legged daughter, Maya.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524) Freehold Township on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:30 PM with his 7:30 PM funeral service to follow at the funeral home. Interment will be private. For those who desire, memorial contributions in Walt’s name may be made to the National Park Service, c/o Office of Partnerships and Philanthropy, Floor 7, Room 72, 1201 Eye Street, NW, Washington, DC 20005.
