Obituary for Edilberto Montezuma

Edilberto Montezuma, 74, of Freehold passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2017 at home. Ed was born in Patillas, Puerto Rico and came to the United States in 1961. He had lived in New Jersey for over forty-years. Ed was a parishioner of the St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church and a former member of the MONOC Pigeon Club. Musically talented, he sang and played the accordion and harmonica. Ed could always be found tinkering around the house.
Ed was predeceased by two brothers. He is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Pamela; three daughters, Kathy Irizarry and her husband, Jony of Howell, Gloria Lanzano and her husband, Mike of Brick, and Debbie Montezuma of Freehold; six grandchildren; and two great granddaughters; a brother, Orlando Montezuma of Puerto Rico; four sisters, Alba Montezuma of Puerto Rico, Adela Santiago of New York City, Carmen Gloria Montezuma of Puerto Rico, Carmen Luz Montezuma of Puerto Rico; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:30 AM funeral service at the funeral home on Thursday, April 20, 2017. Interment will follow in Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent.
