Estelle W. Jankowski, 98, passed away on March 16 2017 at Applewood Estates, Freehold, NJ. Estelle was born in Stratford, CT to the late Joseph Krawczyk and Helen Wojcik Krawczyk. As a young girl, she lived in Brooklyn, NY, later working in New York City for many years. While in the city, she did some modeling for Oppenheim Collins She married Henry J. Jankowski in 1942, they moved to North Plainfield, NJ where she lived for 50 years. She worked as a bookkeeper in the Plainfield area for several years. She was head bookkeeper at Von Graff Greenhouses, South Plainfield before retiring in 1992. She participated in several activities while at Applewood including coordinating the protestant nondenominational church services held on Wednesday afternoons. She was an avid reader and loved flowers
Estelle was pre-deceased by her husband Henry in 1977, a sister and her husband Irene and Steve (Chic) Cichon, a brother Benjamin Krawczyk and brother and wife Martin and Florence Kent. She is survived by her son Roy Jankowski and his wife Linda of Egg Harbor City, her daughter Susan Conly of Easton PA; two grandsons, Brian Conly and his wife Deborah of Raleigh, NC, Brent Conly of Holland Township and three great grandchildren Justin, Luke and Lauren also of Raleigh, NC and her sister-in-law, Fran Krawczyk of North Plainfield along with nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Service Thursday March 23 @ 3:30 in the auditorium at Applewood Estates, 1 Applewood Drive, Freehold, NJ. Inurnment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions to a favorite charity would be appreciated.
