Maria Grazia DeAngelis, 96, of Howell passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. She was born and raised in Italy, moving to Brooklyn in 1969 for twenty years before settling in Howell in 1978. A classy lady who was always well-dressed, Maria was a great cook. She enjoyed trips to Italy and going to her children’s’ restaurants, Romeo’s and Giana Bella’s. Maria was devoted to her church and prayed to St. Anthony. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren more than anything.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Pasquale DeAngelis in 2009. Maria is survived by her children, Anna Maria Napolano and her husband, Oreste of Italy, Giuseppe DeAngelis and Maria of Hazlet, Caterina Romeo and her husband, Nicola of Howell, Nella Romeo of Freehold, and Aniello DeAngelis and Susan of Howell; eleven grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, February 27, 2017 from 5:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at 8:15 AM on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 for the procession to her 9:30 AM Funeral Mass at the Church of St. Veronica, 4215 Route 9 North, Howell. Entombment will follow at Marlboro Memorial Cemetery, 361 Highway 79, Morganville. For those who desire, memorial contributions in Maria’s name may be made to the Church of St. Veronica.
