Gregg A. DeSanto, 46, of Dover, DE passed away on February 9, 2017. Born and raised in Brooklyn, He led the league in homeruns when he played for the Tigers. Gregg was able to fulfill his lifelong dream by becoming a horse trainer and owning his own business.
He was predeceased by his father, Alphonse DeSanto. Gregg is survived by his mother, Teresa Smilek and her husband, Chester, of Freehold; brothers, John DeSanto and his wife, Stephanie of Edison and Joseph DeSanto and his wife, Meredith of Manahawkin; sister, Tara Crocker and her husband, Jon of Howell; and six nieces and nephews, Alyssa, Samantha, Anthony, Alexandra, Jonna and Nicholas.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, February 12, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:30 PM with his funeral service to follow at 4:30 PM.
