Mark Anthony Galgani, 71, of Jackson passed away at home on Saturday, January 28, 2017. Born in Perth Amboy, he was raised in Piscataway and had lived in Edison and Marlboro before settling in Jackson 27 years ago. Mark worked for Marlboro Township as a heavy equipment operator for 36 years until his retirement in 2009. He was a United States Army veteran having proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. Mark enjoyed the outdoors; hunting, fishing, traveling, riding motorcycles, working in the yard and tending to his garden and koi ponds.
He was predeceased by his sister, Elvira Stevens. Mark is survived by his wife of 50 years, Pamela Galgani of Jackson; five siblings, MaryAnn Campell of South Plainfield, Arthur Galgani and his wife, Lydia of Pahrump, NV, Gemma Frankowski and her husband, Hank of Saucier, MS, Lucy Wall and her husband, Dean of Piscataway, NJ, and Daniel Galgani and his wife, JoAnn of Watertown, WI; two sisters-in-law, Hope Saladino and her husband, Peter of Mountainside, NJ, and Kim Palma and her husband, Albert of Englewood, FL; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Saturday, February 4, 2017 from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM with his 1:30 PM memorial service to follow. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mark’s name may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607 or Ronald McDonald House, 3925 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104-3110.
