David Aaron O’Scanlon, 50, of Tinton Falls passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2017. He was born in Long Branch, raised in Little Silver and had lived in Neptune and West Long Branch before settling in Tinton Falls. A graduate of Red Bank Regional High School Class of 1984, he was involved in the high school theater. David possessed a wonderful sense of humor, and enjoyed cooking and entertaining. An animal lover, David reveled in riding his motorcycle and treasured trips to Ireland with friends and family. He dearly loved his father whom he referred to as, “The best dad a guy could have.” He loved his children beyond measure and they will miss him every moment of every day. David was a big man in every respect - big heart, big hugs, big love for his family. He adored his kids more than he could contain - truly beamed with pride whenever he spoke of them - and had big dreams for them that he now will help come true from Heaven.
He was predeceased by his beloved mother, Alice Ann Mott O’Scanlon; and his nanny, Emma Schilling. David is survived by his son, Kyle Ryan O’Scanlon and twins, Connor Aiden O’Scanlon and Kayla Marie O’Scanlon, all of West Long Branch; father, Dr. Declan O’Scanlon, Sr. and his wife, Carol of Colts Neck; brothers, Declan O’Scanlon, Jr. and his wife, Heather of Little Silver, Sean O’Scanlon of Colts Neck; sister, Jennifer O’Scanlon and her husband, Brian Vint of Oceanport; former wife, Tammy O’Scanlon of West Long Branch; uncle, Thomas Mott and his fiancée, Reva Boll of Florida, aunt, Carolyn Alt and her husband, Doug of Wanamassa; niece, Elly; nephew, Colin; and his faithful canine companions, Max and Finneas.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, January 23, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 12:30 PM Funeral Mass on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 AM at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 254 Wall Street, West Long Branch. Interment will follow at Woodbine Cemetery and Mausoleum, Oceanport. For those who desire, memorial donations in David’s name may be made to Lunch Break, 121 Drs.
