Obituary for Toby R. Kash (Nadler)

Toby R. Kash, 75, of Freehold Township passed away with her family at her side on Monday, December 12, 2016 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. She was born in Brooklyn and lived in Rosedale, Queens, Manhattan, Flushing and East Brunswick before settling in Freehold Township in 2004. Prior to working as a special education teacher at St. Helena’s in Edison, Toby taught school in Manhattan. She was the President of the Teacher’s Union, an active member of The Riviera Community and enjoyed the Brandeis Women’s Club. A world traveler who treasured her role as grandmother more than anything, Toby was known as the energizer bunny.

She was predeceased by her husband, Jerrold Kash in 2003. Toby is survived by two children, Robert Kash of Freehold Township and Patricia Kash of New York City, NY; two grandchildren, Alex and Mara; one sister, Ronnie Lamm and her husband, Michael of Fort Myers; nephew, Dr. Everett Lamm and his wife, Stephanie of Lenox, MA; niece, Jennifer Field and her husband, Adam of East Amhurst, NY.

A funeral service will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524) Freehold Township on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at 1:00 PM. Interment will be in Wellwood Cemetery, Farmingdale, Long Island. In lieu of flowers and food, the Kash family requests memorial contributions in Toby’s name made to CentraState Healthcare Foundation, 225 Willow Brook Road, Suite 5, Freehold, NJ 07728. Shiva will be held Wednesday following interment 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM and then Thursday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday from 4pm – 8pm at 6 Northshire Court.
