Obituary for Salvatore C. Caporaso

Salvatore C.  Caporaso
Salvatore C. Caporaso,86, of Oldsmar, FL passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2016. Born and raised in Staten Island, he settled in Florida in 1986. Salvatore was a graduate of New Dorp High School and was a police officer for the Port Authority of NY & NJ for 20 years until his retirement in the late 1970’s. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Salvatore enjoyed playing golf, semi-pro baseball, and rooting for the New York Giants and Yankees. He was a member of the American Legion, Knights of Columbus and PBA.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Nancy in 1959; second wife, Veronica in 1986; third wife, Francesca in 2014; and siblings, Pauline D’Andrea, Angelina Caterina, Josephine Caporaso, Theresa Cenci and Anthony Caporaso. Salvatore is survived by his daughter, Carol Milazzo and her husband, Michael of Freehold Township; his son, Philip Caporaso of Oldsmar, FL; three grandchildren, Joelle Caporaso, Ashley Milazzo and Philip Caporaso; one great-grandchild, Anthony; and a sister, Adeline Cenci and her husband, Emil of Marlboro.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524) Freehold Township on Sunday, December 18, 2016 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Monday, December 19, 2016 at 9:00 AM for the procession to his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Staten Island. For those who desire, donations in memory of Salvatore may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, PO Box 4072, Pittsfield MA 01202.
