Obituary for Thomas A. "Tom" O'Regan

Thomas A. O’Regan, 85, of Freehold Township passed away at home on Monday, November 28, 2016. Tom was born in Manhattan, grew up in Brooklyn and raised his family in the Ridgewood/Glendale sections of Queens before moving to Freehold Township in 1995. He retired as a court clerk for the New York State Supreme Court, NYC in 1989 after 20 plus years of service. Tom was a former parishioner of St. Pancreas Catholic Church, a former member of the Hibernians and Knights of Columbus, all of Queens. He was a parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, and an active member of the Freehold Senior Center and an avid bowler in the Senior League at Howell Lanes. Tom was a die-hard Mets and Notre Dame fan.
He was predeceased by his brother, Charles O’Regan. Tom is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Esther O’Regan of Freehold Township; a son, Thomas A. O’Regan of Huntington Beach, CA; a daughter, Mary E. O’Regan and her husband, John Nisler of Freehold Township; a grandson, John Thomas O’Regan Nisler; a sister, Ann Graham Landry of Groton, CT; and three nephews and a niece.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524) Freehold Township on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at 9:00 AM for the procession to his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township.
