Obituary for Mark Oberschewen

Mark Oberschewen, 49, of Belmar passed away tragically along with his father, Bill at home on Monday, August 15, 2016. Mark was born in Elizabeth and was a lifelong resident of Edison. He moved to Belmar in 2013. He was a 1984 graduate of Wardlaw-Hartridge High School and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business from the University of Maryland in 1988. Mark was a former parishioner and as a boy, served an altar server at St. Helena Catholic Church, Edison. He worked as a salesman for over twenty-five years in the business solutions / office equipment industry. Mark worked for LDI, Canon, Konica-Minolta, and as a general manager of Copyserv Corporation. He enjoyed spending time on the beach, watching Maryland Basketball and had a passion for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Without question, the greatest love in Mark’s life was his children, Michael and Gina. His favorite quote about parenting was, “you get what you put in” and he gave everything he had to his children. Whether it was attending Gina’s cheerleading competitions, coaching Michael’s basketball teams, or just spending time with them, Mark loved his children.
Mark was predeceased by his mother, Bernice Oberschewen and his sister, Susanne Oberschewen. He is survived by his children, Michael and Gina and their mother and his former wife, Michele Intonato of Farmingdale; girlfriend, Denise Remeta of Manalapan; an uncle, Hank Oberschewen of Hackensack; and his cousin, Michael Rapp of Florida,
