Obituary for Janet Mary Heitzman (Oldham)

Janet Mary Heitzman (Oldham)
Janet Heitzman, 67, of Howell went home on Sunday, May 8, 2016. Born in Manhattan, she was raised in Hoboken and had lived in Secaucus before moving to Howell 12 years ago.
Her unwavering faith in Jesus, as well as all the love and prayers received from friends, family and strangers, carried her through her courageous fight with ovarian cancer. Janet lived her life trying to serve God humbly and faithfully, and in her own quiet way touched a lot of lives along the way. She was a blessing to all who knew or even crossed paths with her, and she will be missed greatly. Janet loved gardening, helping others, and above all her relationship with Jesus.
Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. (John 14:1)
She was predeceased by her parents, Adriene and Elizabeth Oldham; sisters, Eileen Hodgins, Marilyn Eckel and Betty Ann Groves; and brother, Richard Oldham. Janet is survived by her beloved husband of 46 years, Robert Heitzman, Sr.; a daughter, Jeannine Heitzman of Howell; a son, Robert Heitzman, Jr. and his wife, Vivian of Wanaque; two adored grandchildren, Megan and Ryan Heitzman; a sister, JoAnn Bagnato; and a brother, Warren Heitzman.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, May 12, 2016 from 2:00 to 4:00 & 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 11:00 AM Funeral Service at the funeral home on Friday, May 13, 2016. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold Township. For those who desire, memorial contributions in Janet’s name may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
