Obituary for Jerome O'Sullivan

Jerome O’Sullivan, 73, of Freehold, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2015 at home. Jerry was born in Manhattan, grew up in The Bronx and had lived in Old Bridge before settling in Freehold. He was a CPA for 39 years with the IRS in NY. He was a member of the Order of the Friendly Sons of Shillelagh, Old Bridge, past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council #4815, St. Thomas the Apostle Council and an honorary member of East Brunswick American Legion. Jerry enjoyed reading the Wall Street Journal and the NY Times, was an avid golfer and loved spending time with family and friends. He was a history buff who loved to travel to Germany, Paris and London.
Mr. O’Sullivan was predeceased by his parents, John O’Sullivan and Mary O’Brien of The Bronx. He is survived by his two sons, Jerome J. O’Sullivan of Palm Coast, FL and Michael O’Sullivan of Colts Neck; his former wife of 34 years, Agnes O’Sullivan of Palm Coast, FL; his significant other of eight years, Ida Mae French of Palm Harbor, FL; one brother, Patrick O’Sullivan and his wife, Anita, of Chandler, AZ; and one nephew, P.J. O’Sullivan, also of Chandler, AZ.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, November 20, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:30 PM with his funeral service to follow at 7:30 PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Jerry’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2310 Route 34, Suite 1D, Manasquan, NJ 08736.
