Obituary for William J. "Billy" Orlando

William J. "Billy"  Orlando
William J. Orlando, 29, of Manalapan passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2015, at the NY Harbor Healthcare System in Brooklyn, NY with his family by his side. Billy was born in Brooklyn, and lived in Manalapan for 22 years. He graduated from Manalapan High School in 2004 before serving honorably in the United States Navy. Billy enjoyed working with his hands, whether it was building models of the Titanic or making home renovations. His passion for history ran as strong as his appreciation for the water and seas. Billy loved movies and often quoted Ghostbusters, but his heart belongs to his family.
Billy is survived by his parents, John and Ahdyne Orlando of Manalapan; his son, Brody Orlando; his sister, Tara Orlando and her fiancé, Lou Antonucci, of Rockaway; his brother, John Orlando and his wife, Amelia, of Monroe; his brother Michael Orlando of Manalapan; and his nephews, Tallon, Jack, and Luke.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 11:00 AM funeral service at the funeral home on Thursday, September 17, 2015. Interment will follow in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown. For those who desire, memorial contributions in Billy’s name may be made to Department of Veterans Affairs, c/o Volunteer Service, 800 Poly Place, Brooklyn, NY 11209.
