John J. O’Connell, 56, of Jackson passed away on Monday, June 15, 2015 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. John was born in Newark, raised in Edison and lived in Belmar before moving to Jackson in 1997. He was the owner of JOELAINES Automotive Lock & Column Repair, Jackson.
John was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Rose O’Connell; a brother, Kevin O’Connell; and his canine companion, Nellie. He is survived by his wife, Elaine O’Connell of Jackson; two sons, Charles and Mitchell; a daughter, Rebecca; a sister, Nancy O’Connell; a brother, James O’Connell; his friendly canine companions, Shelby, Monte, Ollie and Ebby; and his feline companion, Belle.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, June 18, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 & 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 11:00 AM funeral service at the funeral home on Friday, June 19, 2015. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold Township. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of John may be made to the family, which will go to a pet rescue of their choice.
