Obituary for MSgt. Christopher A. Eure, USMC, Ret.

MSgt. Christopher A. Eure, USMC, Retired, 43, of Howell passed away on Monday, January 5, 2015 at John Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland. Chris was born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia. Joining the U.S. Marine Corp at the age of eighteen, he began his twenty year career on Paris Island, South Carolina. Chris served his country for many tours abroad and throughout the United States, ending his distinguished career in Red Bank, New Jersey. Along with his family, he settled in Howell Township in 2010. Chris began his new career in purchasing at the VA Hospital, East Orange, New Jersey in 2012.
Chris was predeceased by his father, Joseph Eure, Sr; his maternal grandparents, Willis and Stenner Phelps; and his paternal grandparents, Joseph and Clara Eure. He is survived by his wife, Pamela L. Eure of Howell; two daughters, Paige and Keirsten Eure of Howell; his mother, Mary Eure of Virginia Beach; his siblings, Gregory Eure of Portsmouth, Virginia, Joseph Eure, Jr. and his wife, Pat of Woodbridge, Virginia, Karen Woodley of Norfolk, Virginia, Curtis Woodley and his wife, Anita of Midlothian, Virginia, Robin Albritton and her husband, Charles of Virginia Beach, Christopher Eure and his wife, Leslie of Bethesda, Maryland, David Woodley and his wife, Jacquetta of Columbia, Maryland; his mother-in-law, Antoinette Brown of Virginia Beach; his father-in-law, Warnermaker Brown of Virginia Beach; his uncle, Herman Phelps of Norfolk, Virginia; his aunt, Pearlie Jacobs of Norfolk, Virginia; a sister-in-law, Cherie Gunn of Virginia Beach; a host of very loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews; other relatives; and friends, including his brothers in arms from the U.S. Marine Corp.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 9:00 AM service at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 14, 2015. Interment will follow in Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle NJ Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown.
