Obituary for William "Bill " Olson

William Olson, 70, of Jackson passed away on Monday, October 20, 2014 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Bill, known to many as Uncle Bo, was born in Newark and had lived in Belmar prior to settling in Jackson in 1971. After serving in the United States Air Force, Bill was an electrician with IBEW until his retirement five years ago. He was an avid freshwater fisherman who enjoyed many days on the lake with his sons, nephews and grandsons.

Bill is survived by his wife, Bernadetta Olson of Jackson; one daughter, Christine Tisch and her husband Daniel of Peoria, AZ; two sons, Brian Olson of Saratoga Springs, NY and Brad Olson and his wife, Kathy of Glen Rock; four grandchildren, Zachary, Kurtis, Ryan and Patrick; and one brother, Thomas Olson of Smithville. He is also survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, October 23, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 & 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home at 9:45 AM for the procession to his 11:00 AM funeral service at the United Presbyterian Church of Millstone, 211 Millstone Road, Perrineville on Friday, October 24, 2014.
