Saran Ivanchukov, 86, of Howell Twp. passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Twp. Saran was born in Bulgaria and came to the U.S. settling in Howell Twp. in 1955. As a young adult, he played soccer for the Bulgarian National Team and was an accomplished musician. Saran retired as a homebuilder in 2000 at the age of 75. He was a founding member and helped with the construction of the Rashi Lhun Po Temple, Howell.
He was predeceased by his wife, Katia in 2002 and a son, Sandje in 2007. Saran is survived by his daughter and caregiver, Nogan Spitzer of Howell Twp.; two sons, Mandje Ivanchukov of Delaware and Khyen Ivanchukov of New York; four grandchildren; and a great grandson.
Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township, on Thursday, April 5, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
